  1. All I can say after this episode is they better give Paddy Considine an Emmy for his role in HOTD. From start to finish, he was just outstanding.

  2. Paddy is so talented, he killed it this episode. I’m sorry to see him go. He definitely deserves an Emmy. Bravo!

  3. I was surprised to see King Viserys left arm… I thought his left arm was completely gone… overall 3/10 definitely my least favorite episode…

Princess Rhaenyra should be more assertive and commanding … royal. She is seconds away from being Queen Rhaenyra…. Ruler of the 6 Kingdoms.

  4. Kathy,

Absolutely outstanding performance. Paddy owned Viserys.

On a side note, Haelena: “beware at the beast under the table” SHREWD WARG LARYS CONFIRMED!

  5. Also, I have to say that what they did to Vaemond almost ruined the episode for me.
I was actually looking forward to the interaction of Corlys and Vaemond after the Driftwood Throne debacle.
Vaemond’s actor was really good and he would have likely pulled an almost Emmy-worthy performance as a heartbroken, bitter mute.
They missed the chance to include a disability seldom seen on screen for cheap gore and foolhardy badass Daemon.
Just imagine five mute men speaking to each other with sign language! (in the book Vaemond was actually backed by four nephews) I can’t really understand WHY do they keep changing the details like this, almost on purpose.

    Why? Explain pls.

  7. Koalafter,

Seems like purity for the sake of purity.

We already saw a bunch of mutes in ep 6… Don’t see what it would add, Vaemond would be written out of the story anyway. This was clearly a much more dramatic way of doing it – and it’s most definitely on purpouse. We are watching a drama, are we not?

(And sorry, spending runtime on a scene where an irrelevant mute is trying to communicate in sign language just sounds really boring)

  8. awol,

There is a crazy/not crazy theory that Larys is a greenseer or warg, and he is using rats to spy on people in the Red Keep

well yes, I know that. But a vague mumble about a beast and no shot of a rat hardly confirms anything at all does it?

  10. awol,

It doesn’t confirm anything, but I won’t be surprised if it’s true. Helaena is just going to drop a bunch of random hints and we will be left guessing. I don’t know what else it could be in reference to. I like theorising, so i’m into it

  11. awol,

There’ve been several, actually, and they seem to be “closing in”—visible in Balerion’s skull (it made me think of Arya chasing cats), lapping at Joffrey’s blood after Criston killed him, and scurrying on the mantle in King Viserys’s room.

  12. awol,

You missed the episode 8 rat? When King leprosy is telling otto he wants to have supper. When the scene starts they pan in on the model of Valeria, the rat is in the model at the lower right of the screen behind the gates.
