Con of Thrones Adds Two More Guests to the Growing Roster!

IF_Teaser-768x432

Con of Thrones is coming, and the guest announcements are pouring in lately! The convention, taking place this summer in Nashville, Tennessee, from June 30th through July 2nd, will feature a wide variety of Game of Thrones guests from both in front of and behind the camera.

Ramsay Bolton himself, Iwan Rheon, and Kerry Ingram (the late lamented Princess Shireen Baratheon) are already confirmed to be attending the convention. Over the past few weeks, several exciting names have been added to the roster, leading up to today’s announcement of two more guests!

Joining Con of Thrones is Sam Coleman, who made a very memorable impression on fans last year with his role as Young Hodor, particularly his heartbreaking turn in the instant-classic episode “The Door.”

Con-goers will also have the opportunity to meet Aimee Richardson, an original cast member in the role of Myrcella Baratheon.

Speaking of those behind-the-camera talents, two are already lined-up:

David J. Peterson, the linguist and conlang genius who expanded Dothraki and Valyrian for the show, will be attending.

Not only that, we can look forward to learning all about the amazing weapons of Game of Thrones from the show’s own weapons master, Tommy Dunne!

And even more guest announcements, from the Vale!

Scene-stealer Kate Dickie (Lysa Arryn) will be at the con Friday and Saturday, and will be joined by her Vale bannerman, Rupert Vansittart (Yohn Royce)!

Visit ConofThrones.com for full details on dates, and to reserve autographs and photographs today. From what I gather, we can expect even more announcements so the fun is just getting started!

Con of Thrones (CoT) is its own legal entity and is owned and operated separately from Watchers on the Wall (WotW). WotW owners and staff are assisting with CoT on a volunteer basis only. All inquiries and attendee support should be directed to management at Con of Thrones. We hope to see you there!

  1. Flayed Potatoes:
Oz must be over the moon that his beloved Lysa is coming.

Is she going to “scream so loud they’re going to hear it clear across the Narrow Sea”? 🙂

  2. Young Hodor?
And The Princess Shireen of the House Baratheon, Aunt Lysa, and Lord Royce?

Damn it! I can’t believe I’m not going.

BTW, pretty good lineup for Year 1.

I hope those who do attend will bring sausages to wiggle in Ramsay’s face.

  3. Oh crud, the one True Myrcella there too?! Ah crud, what I wouldn’t give to be able to go now.

It’s fun how much fanfic there is anticipating that the war would just drag on for years and eventually, Shireen would become leader of the Baratheon faction and Myrcella leader of the Lannister faction. I mean, totally improbable (Gender, Jon Snow, Cersei, a ton of other people would have to die first), but fun nonetheless.

  4. The Dragon Demands,

I found it curious that the show recast Myrcella for such a brief appearance in the Dorne subplot. Still, it’s nice to know Aimee R. remains involved and excited.

  5. While I appreciate the cast members scheduled to appear, I’m curious to know if any of the major characters will be there.. These actors, with the exception of Iwan Rheon, all play (or played) minor characters.

  6. Ten Bears,

Agreed in triplicate — that’s a rootin’ tootin’ come out shootin’ lineup for the first year. Well done WoW and CoT!*

*WoW listed first because a Catspaw Assassin is nothing if not loyal.

  7. As I was scrolling down I thought, “Why the hell is Mitt Romney a featured guest at a Game of Thrones convention?” I’m looking at you, Yohn Royce, Defender of the Mormon Faith-Militant.

What were you expecting, though? Guests are expensive (especially for fan cons as opposed to industry cons) and the show isn’t even over yet, so the main cast will likely have plenty to keep them busy going into Season 8.

  9. Catspaw Assassin,

    Two comments about Sam Coleman:

    1. No matter how many years go by, people are always going to remember those last couple of minutes of S6e5 with Wylis flailing on the ground crying out “Hold the Door!” until it morphed into “Hodor” – and the screen faded to black.
I thought the kid did a great job.

    2. I wish I could attend. As soon as Sam Coleman is introduced, the place is going to erupt in spontaneous cries of “Hold the door!”

  10. Just announced: Ghost, the three-eyed Raven, the wight that tried to kill Mormont, the bear who was fighting Brienne, that headless horse rider from Battle of the Bastards,& Ramsey’s dogs.

  11. If it wasn’t so far away I’d definitely go. I’m sure we’ll see lots of internet coverage and interview videos though so I’m not too sad. That’s an awesome guest list so far! 😀

  12. Wimsey,

By coincidence, #1 on my wish list of additional guests is Myranda (Charlotte Hope).

In my bizarro world, Queen of Love and Beauty.

  13. Aimee Richardson , for all the screen time Nell Tiger Free had they could have used Aimee, who now has a growing acting resume.

They ought to get Roxanne McKee … she had two seasons.

  14. Boojam,

They tried to get her back but she failed in her audition or something, point is they didn’t think she fitted that role, either way this point has been talked again and again before and i’m tired of bringing it again just like whole controversy with the first Mountain and the first Daario . Not to mention that it feels unfair to the actors that portrayed them now since they didn’t have any decision in the matter .

  15. Ten Bears: In my bizarro world, Queen of Love and Beauty.

heh! I can sort of see that: but you have to understand that at my age, my answer to “who is the hottest Stark girl?” is “Catelyn, of course.” 😀

Given how little Myrcella had been on the show, and given that it had been 3 years since last we saw her, I doubt that 99% of the audience even noticed the switch. I definitely would not have known, had I not read about it here.

I also did not catch the Mountain getting switched out. I noticed Daario, obviously: but as I thought that the first Daario was sort of ridiculous (not as ridiculous as Book!Daario, but still too much like Fabio in a Legolas outfit), I was not unhappy.

  17. I have a Valaryian pass, auto/photo for Ramsay, and auto for Shireen. I also have the voucher that is unused. If anyone is interested in purchasing please email [email protected]. I can happily give a phone number if you send an email.

  18. Azor Asshai,

I don’t think the “dead” cast members are tied up with the production and I was hoping for a few more of them. I would love to see Charles Dance, Mark Addy and some of the army murdered by Cercie in the Sept. Just call it a wish list.

  19. Wimsey,

Well, I’ve since replaced Myranda with Septa Unella (Hannah Waddingham) as my Queen of Love & Beauty. You might too if you watch the last few seconds of the parody commercial she did for SodaStream (YouTube search for “Shame or Glory” should bring it right up).
