The cast of Game of Thrones visited with Conan O’Brien this week at Comic Con, and the Conan episode centering on the group aired last night on TBS. We were treated to the host going full-on Melisandre, Hodor & Bran awkward acknowledgments, discussions of pranks and much much more.

This years Comic Con and after events were pretty lame for GoT.

Last year was worse IMO. People wanted to know if Jon was coming back and the actors didn’t want to talk. Also, the controversial rape scene … at least now the panel was more relax.

They’re just ‘there’ the past few years. Nothing to say, nothing to report. Found it really boring last few years watching the GOT panel. They could have picked a better group of actors aswell.
I found this even worse than the last one actually. Questions were boring and the actors also didnt have much to do.
Is there a link to the whole Conan GoT event on one video so we don’t have to watch each individual clip separately? Maybe I missed it…

Yeah I would have preferred Maisie over Sophie and anybody from Team Dany over Nathalie. I like her, but Missandei isn’t the most thrilling of characters. Where were Emilia, Peter, or even Gemma or Alfie would have been better.
And no one representing King’s Landing? No Lena, NCW, Pryce, Dormer, Chapman?
So where was Sophie?
I think that I am happy to get any time with the actors where they are just being themselves and glad that Conan puts on the show. I would bet that much more happened while on commercials and such that the audience got to see and we didn’t. Maybe I am just not so hard to please.

Alfie, afaik, is currently doing a stageplay. I think Gemma is also doing some work if I interpret her Instagram photos correctly (she is almost always shown in costumes; she seems to be busy).

I agree – love to see them and hear their natural accents, which I find very entertaining.
But in terms of content I agree with most commenters – not much substance here. I think we would ultimately have ended up with a more interesting show if only Dan and Dave had been there to answer questions – or even two of the others. There are just too many of them there to really get into a conversation.
It’s rather sad that the Conan appearance is usually the highlight of ComicCon for Game of Thrones. The official panel is truly useless.

For whatever reason, she was never scheduled to be here. Supposedly she’s filming Berlin, I Love You at some point in July, so maybe she had to go back early? Or she just didn’t feel like going on Conan again.

Emilia is filming a movie in Kentucky. I don’t think Peter is filming at the moment, but I don’t get the impression he has much interest in these sorts of PR appearances, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he just didn’t want to come.

If ComicCon 2017 happens before the show premieres, or perhaps just prior to the season finale, since there are only 7 episodes, it will be much more exciting.
This wasn’t the most dynamic group of actors although Liam and John are always fantastic. And Conleth is generally amusing and just enjoys himself.

I think it’s nice to see the cast together, even if it’s a little dull, it’s cool to see them smiling and cracking jokes
hmm Sophie immediately went to Santa Barbara to spend the weekend there after the first day of GoT’s cast at the SDCC. I find it weird that the most popular actor of that bunch who’s been doing promo for the show since the season finale went off to party in Santa Barbara while the rest of cast stayed the weekend in San Diego doing more promo work. Does this have anything to do with the whole hate and bashing she got on every social media after the panel?

I always enjoy Conan (and Andy) but this 360 thing… I just cannot get used to it.
Conleth was his usual, fantastic self (with luscious locks), Liam is a crumpet, Isaac swore away (bless him and his love for Kristian ^^), John is as witty as ever, etc. All in all, a delightful if slightly subdued panel. It must be weird for all of them to have to go from medium to medium and have so very little to say. But that’s Comic Con !
I once heard James Spader describe the event as “four days of foreplay with no release” (or something to that effect) and I find myself concuring. All buildup with very little payoff : one vague interview here, one behind-the-scenes snipet there… The teaser for the trailer for the extract of the movie/show that will not be released/aired before 11 months from now.

No, as someone already said, she’s filming a movie at the moment, “Berlin, I Love You”.
As for people saying that they needed more of the “main” cast… how is Liam Cunningham not part of the main cast? Davos is one of the central characters as far as I’m concerned! Not to mention Sam Tarly and Bran, both of whom are key players. I’d rather hear from the “outliers” than the same four or five “main” cast members every year. Besides, none of them have anything to say anyway, as far as the upcoming narrative is concerned! It’s going to be content-free interviews until filming commences, as usual.

I was just speculating, but it appears she was still in California, at least on Saturday or so. But she wasn’t sent away from Conan, either; she was never supposed to be there, for whatever reason, as there was a promotional bit for the cast’s appearance on the show late last week that listed the actors who were to be there, and she wasn’t one of them.
She Instagram’d a photo of herself and Gracie Parker, her closest pal from the X-Men filming, so perhaps she decided she’d rather visit with her friends in California.

Kit got manbun. He looks good in this and Benioff said during Oxford panel that he had special imagine of Jon Snow and how he’s supposed to look like. And about real heir. It really doesn’t matter who is real heir or not. Technically Baratheons took throne from Targaryens by conquest, yeah Robert based claim partially on his Targaryen heritage but you see my point. That person has to take it and nobody cares about rightful heir or not. Which applies to Jon as a Targaryen bastard too who’s not even interested in it.

I loved all the cast that showed up for comic-con but it does seem weird that they don’t have at least one of the main protagonists there (Peter, Lena, Emilia, Kit).
I understand that they are busy people or maybe it’s not their scene, plus the cost to get any one of them is probably 5 times what the other cast would get. This is the biggest con out there, so all the bucks seem to go toward movie franchises.
Of course, I am assuming that the guests are paid. I know smaller con’s pay the talent.
And I like Sophie, even if Sansa bugs at times. Seems people are so divided about the things she has said about the whole Sansa/Jon thing. She has spun her story a dozen times. I think she likes to play with people or maybe just doesn’t think as deeply about the characters motivations as the fans do. She does what is on paper. Maybe she asks for motivation or emotional direction from the powers that be but I get a feeling she just plays it how she sees it. I don’t think she is a “method” actor, so I wouldn’t take any of her comments so seriously.

Did anyone see the clip with Liam and his expression when he talked about the Jon/Sansa friction to come? He had a cringey look like it’s going to be a doozy, not just a little rivalry. Also, Isaac is adorably nerdy (I mean that in a good way) and his friendship with Nairn is cute. Missandei actress is sooo pretty, and acts classy. And John B. has a thing for Jon haha.
Now that everything is calm,i just want to say that from the A tier actors only Kit and NCW are actually filming something else right now. I think Emilia has finished with her movie as her costar Jack Huston has to start filming with Sophie before GoT starts..
So if you find the panel boring,the other actors just didnt want to go.
