Carice van Houten & Miltos Yerolemou announced for Con of Thrones!

Carice van Houten Melisandre Con of Thrones

Con of Thrones has been busy this week, adding two more stellar guests to the roster for the inaugural convention this summer in Nashville, Tennessee. The con is set for June 30th through July 2nd, 2017, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

Today it was announced that Carice van Houten, the Red Woman herself, will be attending Con of Thrones. The actress, who has played the priestess Melisandre on Game of Thrones since season 2, will attend the festivities and be available for autographs and photographs on Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to van Houten, the con is welcoming Miltos Yerolemou! A fan favorite from his role as Arya’s swordmaster Syrio Forel, Yerolemou will be attending the con on Saturday and Sunday as well.

Van Houten and Yerolemou are joining a guest roster including Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton), Kerry Ingram (Shireen Baratheon), Kate Dickie (Lysa Arryn), Rupert Vansittart (Yohn Royce), Aimee Richardson (Myrcella Baratheon), Sam Coleman (young Hodor), Dothraki & Valyrian language genius David J. Peterson and GoT weapons master Tommy Dunne.

Reserve your autographs and photographs with Carice, Miltos, and the rest at ConofThrones.com!

In addition to the guest news, Con of Thrones has been dropping teasers about the programming over on Twitter. So far, the panels unveiled are “Motherhood and Power,” “Dracarys!”, and “Sex and Sensuality on Game of Thrones.” Follow the CoT Twitter to receive regular teases of things to come.

As part of the programming committee, I can tell you we’ve been hard at work crafting a huge variety of panels for con-goers, and I can’t wait for you all to see the complete schedule in the near future!

Con of Thrones (CoT) is its own legal entity and is owned and operated separately from Watchers on the Wall (WotW). WotW owners and staff are assisting with CoT on a volunteer-basis only. All inquiries should be directed to management at Con of Thrones. We hope to see you there!

  1. Hodor?

    Oh, I SO wish I could go!!! This is looking more and more amazing. Thank you for the update!

  2. Fantastic news, and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if next week you announce that you’ve booked the seven faces of god themselves for a panel discussion on how the High Sparrow is a sucky role model for today’s young worshipers. 😉

  3. This is the most exciting Con of Thrones news since last week’s announcement that GOT’s chief electrician Larry “The Zapper” Finkelstein will be leading a symposium on the differences between Northern Irish and Spanish voltage standards.

    😉

  4. SYRIO FOREL !!!!!
    Nine Years, the First Sword to the Sealord of Braavos!!!

    and Melisandre, the First Lapdancer to the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch !!!!

    Argggghhh! How can I not be going to this ??? !!!

  5. What a great day! Fantastic Series 7 pics and Mel at the con! Looking forward to it! Been working on a costume. 🙂

    and Syrio!!! I knew he was still around! 😉

  6. Among the celebrity guests are only two actors playing characters who are still, to the best of our knowledge, alive in the series. I guess appearing at cons is the least painful of the Seven Hells awaiting deceased Westerosi.

  7. Wolfish,

    I wish you could go! I know you would have more fun than Mr. Cat will. I will do my best to keep you up to date!

    I was so excited to hear about Carice that I had to run and tell my GoT fan co-workers! Now I really have to do a fabulous job on our Mel and Mance costumes.

  8. Ten Bears,

    Yes! I still can’t believe my husband agreed to go (he watches the show, nodded off during the concert, and has not read the books), but I figure he will attend a few of the sessions then take off to see other sights in Nashville. I asked him to wear one costume — he chose Mance so he won’t have to wear a wig or cut his hair or grow a real beard!

  9. Lonely Cat,

    For his Mance costume…Are you going to glue half an arrow onto his shirt with a fake entry wound? ?Or orange and yellow “flames” on his pants cuffs? ??

    Carice is so charming and funny in real life. I hope someone will ask her – in a respectful, dignified way, how it feels to be the only woman in the real or fictional world who has:

    1. Been “breaststroked” by Lord Commander Jon Snow;

    2. Had carnal knowledge of the Stannis, the One True King, on the Dragonstone map table;

    3. Seduced Gendry, King Robert’s sole surviving son (and then did something freaky to him with leeches).

    4. Caressed the six pack abs and lush mane of a naked Jon Snow.

    (That’s a pretty impressive lineup of XY specimens.)
