Brad Pitt Bids $120,000 to Watch Game of Thrones with Emilia Clarke!

Turns out the average person isn’t the only one who can’t wait to watch Game of Thrones on Sunday nights. Brad Pitt partook in Sean Penn’s annual gala to raise money for Haiti, bidding $120,000 to watch an episode with Emilia Clarke, reports Variety. Unfortunately, he then lost his bid to an unnamed auction participant. The winner ended up paying $160,000, so I guess we know that $40,000 is Pitt’s true achilles heel.

Along the way, Brad Pitt outbid himself, going from a scant $80,000 to a less meager $90,000. Not to be outdone, auctioneer tried to amp up the drama  at this time, reportedly yelling “Is the King of the North here?!” Unfortunately, such was Kit Harington (Jon Snow)’s luck that he was in the restroom at the time of the quip, although when he returned, it is said that he offered to participate in the viewing party. Following this, Brad Pitt once again upped the ante to the aforementioned $120,000.

While Pitt eventually lost, there were definitely some other highlights of the night. Leonardo DiCaprio talked about the importance of recognizing and combating climate change, his passion for which has long been public. He even went on to offer $80,000 for a Josh Smith (who?) painting, but was outbid by the Queen of Dragons herself: Emilia Clarke. I guess all that extra money earned from GOT’s final two seasons is being put to good use. If it all seems like too much money to comprehend, let’s not forget that all this money being spent by the bigwigs of Hollywood is fortunately going towards helping the people of Haiti.

Plus this positions Kit and Emilia exactly where we need them to be, in Los Angeles where they’ll be presenters for tonight’s Golden Globes awards!

  1. Just ask her out, Brad. She might say yes, or she might not. 😜

We had a good laugh up here at Leo’s expense while he was filming The Revenant. Mr. Environment was gobsmacked by Mother Nature when she hit production with a chinook (common in that area) and he had no idea what was happening.

I do like that he’s been driving more environmentally friendly vehicles since before they were trendy.

Golden Globes! I admit I rarely watch awards shows, but I do like seeing the zoo of outfits, genuine talent, and speculating how on earth some people were even let in, never mind invited. 😂

  2. It’s wonderful that Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington use their popularity for worthy causes. (Without much fanfare, Lena Headey, Maisie Williams, and Liam Cunningham also devote time, $, and effort to charity.)

    Good role models for celebrities.

  3. Pigeon,

Awww. They’d make a cute couple. Tyler Durden and the Mother of Dragons.

  4. Ironic that there’s such focus on Brad Pitt’s losing bid when the poor old tosser who shelled out $160K to win the auction didn’t even merit a name call-out. Tis the way of the world.

  5. Any article about Kit getting blasted in NY bar and getting kicked out? Why was he there? A filming break?

  6. I suspect Emilia was disappointed that Brad lost. Hope some tech magnate that will harass her didn’t win. (Is Kit there too?)

  7. Ser Broccoli McBroccoliface,

A non-story, I think. From what I could see, the vast majority of the comments on the TMZ and Daily Mail articles were questioning why it was news. Despite dramatic headline, the video just shows a guy who is wasted. He wasn’t violent or aggressive. He got kicked out for being too drunk to function. Who hasn’t been there?

Can’t say I’ve ever gotten drunk enough to get kicked out of a bar, no.

But it did appear, from the video clips, that Kit was just trying to get his fair turn at the pool table, after many interruptions. I felt bad for him that all these people kept coming up to him and manhandling him like he was public property. I guess that kind of comes with the territory, though. Be careful what you wish for!

  9. The more I look at that still of Emilia, the more I think: Man, that grey gown is pretty and beautifully made. Man, that dragonhead brooch is garish and ghastly.

  10. Carole H,

That may be true! Since the S7 spoiler disaster I’ve hardly visited wotw because it was a minefield (well tagged with warnings, but I wanted to be safe) so I’ve probably missed some upsets. Although thinking on it, the rule it makes total sense and has probably been longstanding, and I was just ignorant of it. Anyway, fwiw, I was just trying to defend Kit in answer to a question, but if that’s inappropriate, I’m sure a mod will delete the relevant comments in due course.

Garish? I’m guessing you’re not from the American Southwest? That said, three dragon heads mounted on a stick seemed a little grisly to me.

  12. iridium,

I hope Kit stops getting drunk. Kit has already broken his ankle once because he was drunk. Drinking too much alcohol could cause more unnecessary accidents. He looked wasted to me.

  13. iridium,

No probs, I was going off what has been said in the past and this site is for GOT related articles not the actors personal lives per se, well that’s how I see it anyway.

  14. Pigeon: Just ask her out, Brad. She might say yes, or she might not.

Brad is finally starting to look his age, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Even if he is 54 (and 23 years older than Emilia) I imagine she’d still love to hang for a bit. 🙂

Unless he was there to film the White Walker invasion of NYC (unlikely), I’m not sure we need to become a tabloid and report on a drunk and disorderly. You can read that on TMZ.

If a woman was being manhandled would you also say it’s part of the territory? Just curious.
